CATL is now the world’s No. 1 battery manufacturer, and Yutong is the top-selling passenger car in China. The two have joined forces again this time to sign another “10-year contract”. On August 9, CATL and Yutong signed a ten-year strategic cooperation framework agreement in Zhengzhou, Henan. Innovative development and application of systems and new technologies, and jointly formulate technical standards for commercial vehicle batteries.
At the same time, the two parties will also focus on overseas markets and go abroad together to achieve the strategic goal of “jointly going global with vehicles and electric vehicles”.
According to reports, since 2012, the two sides have launched a decade-long in-depth strategic cooperation. Through the upgrade of electrical system technology, the application of CTP innovative technology, and the safety protection of battery systems, we will work together to promote the electrification of commercial vehicles.
Up to now, CATL has supplied 19GWh power batteries to Yutong buses, providing power for nearly 150,000 new energy buses, accounting for 93% of the total.
In addition, sales data show that in the first half of this year, Yutong Bus sold a total of 3,726 new energy buses with a height of 6 meters or more, ranking first in domestic sales.
