According to the principle of “unified planning, phased construction, gradual access, and overall dispatch” of the National Energy Administration, 100MW/400MWh will be built in advance. After stable operation, the second phase of the project will be constructed. It accumulates electricity like a “sponge”, and “shaving peaks and filling valleys” guards the safety of the power grid.
Dalian Flow Battery Energy Storage Peak Shaving Power Station is the first national-level large-scale chemical energy storage demonstration project approved by the National Energy Administration in April 2016. The total construction scale is 200 MW/800 MWh and the total investment is about 3.8 billion. Yuan, when completed, will become the world’s largest flow battery energy storage power station. The energy storage power station can be used as an urban backup power supply. In the event of a power grid failure, it can provide emergency power supply for about 4 hours to the government, hospitals, emergency departments, communication facilities, rescue facilities, etc. “Black start” power supply to restore power to the entire grid. Dalian flow battery energy storage peak shaving power station adopts domestic self-developed all-vanadium flow battery energy storage technology with independent intellectual property rights. It is suitable for high-power, large-capacity energy storage, with good safety, long cycle life and fast response speed. , high energy conversion efficiency, green environmental protection and other advantages.
At present, the Dalian flow battery energy storage peak-shaving power station has been officially integrated into the Liaoning power grid, and the final battery cell commissioning and system commissioning are being carried out. It is expected to be put into commercial operation by the end of September this year.
